I do like FoT and I would like a remake / spiritual successor, but bloody hell is it jank and needs refinement. This makes it really difficult to determine where windows or doorways are in a building unless you go right up to it. That is not something that should exist in a game with weapon skills.ĭespite being released in 2001 you don't have the ability to see different elevations like in X-COM, a game released in 1993. I also don't like how linear the progression is - once you get to super mutants small guns become next to useless, especially SMGs, with only automatic shotguns and sniper rifles becoming worthwhile. Playing it pure turn based is too bloody slow because of the number of enemies. Its too fast and your guys die instantly to super mutants. I haven't ironmanned the game, might give it a shot but the later missions with super mutants where characters get instakilled from across the map 1% accuracy shots will probably get annoying

My autism forces me to walk every single item to the exit grid to sell everything (have a guy stand in the grid and just steal everything onto him) it takes time but you'll never be left wanting for money.

You can also lob grenades over walls at unseen targets (even stealthed), that's actually a neat feature. Back in the day people used the online to roleplay various factionsĪlso switching from burst to single fire while the attack is starting up gives you increased damage, it pissed people off in online - not sure why it worked that way but it was never fixed. The real problems with this game lies in poor optimization (even the level editor runs like shit on modern systems), p2p online and the fact that sniper rifles will outrange poor AI cheezmode. If you think the game isn't hard enough and just run around in realtime at all times, you're not playing on the highest difficulty: opinion discarded
